SEE & DO

ARTPENTRY

Mr. Floyd Davis, artist and entrepreneur, divides his time between Code of Conduct (his co-owned tattoo studio) and ARTPENTRY (his workshop). Artpentry is an independent woodshop and gallery space where he shows his collection, THE GENTLEMAN'S BOOMBOX. Davis takes vintage suitcases, steamer trunks, train cases and everything else in-between, installs a set of speakers and an audio input, and offers his creations as unique objects d′art that will remix your boring old sound system. Nobody else will have one exactly like yours, since each is created with salvaged luggage scavenged from around Chicago.

IKRAM

Transformed from an auto repair shop, REGGIES is now home to an ever growing music scene and has been a launching pad for alternative rock pioneers like Alkaline Trio, Gaslight Anthem, Carl Palmer and more.

PETER FIELD

The perfect custom suit is just steps away from W City Center’s doorstep. Peter Field was founded in 2010 on the idea that if a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing right. Unfortunately the clothing and fashion industry have not been doing it right and Peter Field is fueled by a desire to change this. Also available are leather accessories and bowties (if that suits your fancy)

MILLENNIUM PARK

Located next to the Art Institute of Chicago, this 25-acre, art-filled park is a Chicago must-see, thanks to Frank Gehry’s Jay Pritzker Pavilion (in the summertime the Grant Park Orchestra performs free concerts), Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate sculpture, and a variety of other standout works.
